Lab Mice Stickers (2024)

During the summer of 2024, I spent a month staying with my sister during her time in her PhD program. This became the inspiration behind creating these lab mice stickers as a cute and humorous way to showcase the various aspects of lab life.

The stickers read: hang in there, get along shirt, I'm Evans blue da ba dee, maze runner, lab rat, the council will decide your fate, smooth brain, K O, I was on t once, time to sleep, no stitches, you spin me right round, my eyes are down here, this is fine, eat me, sink or swim, eepy, need coffee, talk to the paw, forgor..., 13 going on 30. Along with a second rendition of my eyes are down here, a mouse driving a car inspired by a pipette tips container, and a computer mouse and mouse doing the spiderman meme of looking and pointing at each other.

This started with the doodles I drew during my time helping out with and observing my sister at work in lab.

The original doodle sheet for coming up with lab mice stickers. It is cluttered with each doodle being varied in size and detail. All of these became part of the final stickers.
A handful more lab mice doodles such as ones with the text drink me, go with the flow, talk to the paw, or when you wake up and there's still lab today. Otherwise there's some duplicate portraits of a mouse face colored in different palettes with three of the palettes being selected to use in coloring the stickers. There's a dark brown mouse color palette, a tan mouse color palette, and an albino mouse color palette.

After reorganizing and resizing my doodles into a grid format, this got brought into a lineart phase, and then into coloring to render out these stickers.
